curatorial statement:

COGNITIVE DISSONANCE presents a body of contemporary photographs, paintings, sculptures, and video artwork that explore incongruity, playacting, and what it means to imagine, assume, and perform identities in the modern world. It grapples with the multiplicities of human existence and the contradictions in navigating worlds that exist in opposition and harmony to each other and our personhoods. What possibilities unfold when we embrace this dissonance and create space to harbor contradiction?
